菅内閣 平均年齢５９歳、政経塾出身者３人も（産経新聞）
８日に発足した菅内閣は、前の鳩山由紀夫内閣から引き続き入閣した閣僚が１２人で７割近くを占める。内閣の安定性と政策の継続性を重視した結果だといえる。初入閣した５人は、小沢一郎前民主党幹事長に距離を置く中堅・若手が多く「脱小沢」を印象づける狙いがある。ただ、国民的人気があり、事業仕分けで一躍名を上げた蓮舫氏を行政刷新担当相に登用するなど、間近に迫る参院選対策の印象もぬぐえない。
平均年齢は、鳩山内閣（発足時）より１．７歳若返り、５９．０歳。非自民連立政権の細川内閣（平成５年８月９日発足）の５９．４歳とほぼ同じ。年代別に見ると最も多いのは６０代で８人、５０代、４０代が４人だった。最年少は蓮舫氏の４２歳、最高齢は亀井静香郵政改革・金融相の７３歳。３０代の入閣は鳩山内閣に引き続きいなかった。
衆院出身閣僚を当選回数別にみると、中井洽（ひろし）国家公安委員長と亀井氏が最多で１１回、最少は長妻昭厚生労働相の４回で鳩山内閣と変わらない。当選５、６回がそれぞれ４人ずつで最も多く、１０回以上の閣僚は３人。平均当選回数は６．０回で鳩山内閣よりも１．２回下がった。
参院からの入閣は４人。蓮舫氏は当選１回でのスピード入閣となった。民間からの登用は鳩山内閣に引き続きいなかった。
女性閣僚は、再任となった千葉景子法相と蓮舫氏の２人。親などが国会議員だった「世襲議員」は中井氏の１人だけだった。
党内のグループ別に見ると、鳩山内閣で入閣しなかった野田グループから野田佳彦氏が財務相に起用され、どのグループからもほぼ均等に起用された。連立を組む国民新党からは代表の亀井氏が再任された。
出身大学別では、東大が最も多く６人（仙谷氏は中退）。続いて早大の３人、京大、慶大が２人ずつ。松下政経塾出身は、野田氏、前原誠司国土交通相、玄葉光一郎公務員制度改革担当相の３人だった。
